I put this up on HH so i thought i'd stick it here too for convience
woot! i've been thinking about OCs for a while now, and finally have plenty to throw about and play with ^^ok so here goes:
Quinn Territ (Quinn Mantor)
Quinn's mother Penelope has always kept her away from magic, fooling her even though they live in the kingdom of relian which is built on magic. Quinn has never questioned this, after all for her this is normal, she assumed (which she does too much) that anyone could build a city like this, even though relian has fallen once already because there are no longer any magicians possessing the ancient magics needed to sustain the city.
Once Quinn finds out she has been tricked she is given the excuse that she was worried that the idea of magic might frighten or cause harm to Quinn of her little brother Edwin. Athrid Penelope's husband, Quinn's father simply allowed his wife to get on with everything as he allows himself to be completely absorbed in his hobbies and reading...sometimes for weeks on end.
One day Quinn catches sight of herself in a mirror, and all hell breaks loose, she questions her mother about magic, buys a book on magic, accidentally sets ehr own powers free and breaks the glamour surrounding her.
To her families horror, Quinn discovers that she is a half-elf, her mother's disloyalty to her husband causes a rift and Quinn leaves with only the name Valras Mantaeor as a guide. She enrolls in the magic school nearby and begins to learn the skills that will really help her in life.
When in glamour: Mid-lenght brown hair, brown eyes, slightly tanned skin, tallish.
When the glamour is broken: Short green hair, brown eyes, pale skin, shorter than tallish. ^^
Quinn loves reading and magic, she feels uncomfortable with the martial elements of magic, but likes having 'safe' sparring matches with her new compainions who know never to lie of pretend with her...else she goes on a very long strop. She doesn't like surprises...hmm...emotions and volatile magic....nice
Very rarely will Quinn aproach someone else or say hello first, but once that first contact is made, she'll help out if she can. She's not shy exactly, but knows not to interferre where people don't need her...ouch
Quinn likes plain food, rice, nuts, boring fruits. She likes mild flavours. Curry? hell no. She's a little slow sometimes, but works until she understands. She loves little logic puzzels, mazes or maths. Sructure and ettiquette, sewing or playing complex instruments she loathes having left that all in her old life. She constantly surprises everyone with her vast knowledge of everything she had drummed into her growing up and if needed could infultrate almost any posh gathering. (the offers there)
So that's Quinn, yep it's long winded. but she's one of my favourites. be nice ^^
